DETROIT WATER AND SEWERAGE DEPARTMENT ROMEO ARM OF THE MACOMB SEWER INTERCEPTOR October 29, 2004 Update Divers have completed the installation of the steel bulkhead in the interceptor to the east of the repair area. Construction of the access shaft to the west of the repair area has reached the top of the interceptor. Crews will now begin cutting into the interceptor in preparation of installing the second steel bulkhead. The one lane gravel access road for residents living on the north side of 15 Mile has been paved with asphalt to ensure access during the winter months. The sinkhole has been partially filled in with dirt. This is necessary to establish firm ground for the heavy equipment that will be positioned in the sinkhole for repair of the interceptor.
